Two Way Pallets

Two-way pallets are manufactured with 3 basic components e.g. lower deck board, top deck board, and side bearer.  They are referred to as “two-way” because it’s only possible for forklift trucks to enter them from the front or back. Two-way pallets are of the same high quality as any other pallet that we produce and are also the cheapest. However, maneuverability is limited because the forklift only has two points of entry.  If making the best use of space in a warehouse is of optimum concern or the pallets are going to be loaded as freight, the better choice would be four-way pallets.

Two-way pallets are generally notched through the stringers to make it a four-way pallet. These types of pallets are primarily used to adhere to the standards of GMA (Grocery Manufacturer’s Association), a standard which is widely accepted in the USA. These are less labor-intensive to manufacture and are typically both stronger and more cost-effective than four-way pallets but offer less flexibility in terms of handling and so storage, space utilization and transport/shipping costs can be compromised. These pallets are also available with necessary heat treatment or fumigation as per the ISPM15 norms.
